ENDOSCOPIC VISUALISATION OF MIDDLE EAR


Pic 1) complete visualisation of medial wall of the middle ear is done with 0 degree endoscope. The protiniculum bony bridge between mouth of eustachian tube and protympanum is seen .The second important structure is finiculus a bony ridge from cochlear capsule to hypotympanum. It seperates subtympanic sinus to hypotympanum


Pic 2) Roundwindow and oval window promontory protympanum hypotympanum and are seen clearly including jocobson’s nerve and inferior tympanic artery

SURGICAL IMPLICATIONS: Following ponticulum deeply leads to starting point of genu of ICA
